The Olds Golf Club is a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary facility that prides itself on offering a Championship golf experience at a price that remains affordable to everyone. We understand that the high prices you find for a quality golf experience makes golfing unattainable for many. Our Mission Statement remains to this day “to provide an affordable community recreational facility”. Staying true to this mission has allowed us to carve out a successful niche in the Central Alberta golf market. We continually provide Championship caliber course conditions, fair pricing and friendly service all of which contribute to our success. In the Fall of 2009, we took the first step in the course development of our master plan. Golfers who come to Olds in the Spring of 2010 will find 16 new forward tee complexes, 3 new Championship tees and a completely redesigned fairway and hazard on hole #17. These changes will take an already wonderful course to the next level and allow us to better serve our members, public players and corporate clients.

When playing at Nanton you will be faced with two separate 9-hole challenges. The front nine is completely tree lined and allows golfers who hit their driver well a good opportunity to score, those who don’t will have to contend with the many trees and greenside bunkers that come into play on most every hole.

The back nine then offers a completely different set of challenges as it is not only longer but also has water in play on 8 of 9 holes with mosquito creek catching any wayward shots along the way. With very few trees to serve as protection the back nine becomes a real test on a windy Southern Alberta day!

Lucky number thirteen is considered Nanton’s signature. Don’t let this 165-yard par three beauty over water awe you, as more people walk off this green minus a golf ball or two than those walking away with a 3 on their scorecard

Harvest Hills Golf Course

Harvest Hills offers an imaginative 9-hole layout with scenic views of downtown Calgary and the surrounding north countryside. Three large ponds bring water into play on seven of its holes, and no fewer than 68 sand bunkers (most clustered near the greens) have been incorporated into this tough design.

At 3,185 yards, there is enough length to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. Mounded roughs channel play and help to corral errant shots. The gently rolling fairways provide a variety of challenges and golfers must exercise intelligent shot management to navigate the course successfully.

A course slope rating of 131 from the blue tees and 139 from the red tees makes Harvest Hills the most difficult 9-hole course in Alberta.

Two long fairway bunkers to the left and right of the landing on the 5th hole forces golfers to be on top of their games from the very start. If golfers thread the needle successfully, they are still presented with a tricky approach to a narrow green tightly guarded by four bunkers.
